Just had a great few days in Northumbria - 2 nights nr Beamish (the Great North Steam Fair was on too and in with the entrance fee!), followed by 2 nights at Bellingham with a day at Kielder Water. First 3 days beautiful weather and last day wind/rain/hail interspersed with a bit of Sun. A lovely first trip of the year. :cheer:

Same with us - I've wanted to go for many years but as it's a bit further than a day trip for us we hadn't done it till now. I will def try to get there again, hopefully within the year as the ticket is valid for 12 months from date of issue.

I love Northumbria, one of my favourite places, beautiful.
Beamish is brilliant, I haven't been for a while and it's not far from where we live. It's easy to spend a day there, loads to see.

Yes there are a few campsites within a few miles of Beamish - we stayed at Maiden Law Farm near Lanchester. It's a Camping & Caravan Club Certificated Site so you'd need to be a member to stay here, but it was lovely and with just five pitches. The couple who run it are really lovely too. They breed Lakeland sheep and the pitches all overlook the sheep field (I was hoping more lambs would be born whilst we were there but alas, the girls were unobliging!) It's adults only but our teenager was allowed as he is quite house-trained'! Oh, and just a loo & sink, and CWP - no showers!
