That looks very corroded and worse for wear, would it not be simpler, easier and cheaper to get a new pre wired trailer board?

Thanks for your help guys. After removing the old light clusters, I found an awful wiring job so decided to re-wire the whole lighting assembly with a brand new tow cable. Much better now. I've added a pic of the new illuminated LED clusters (still some bits of trim missing) along with a side view of the external refurb I'm doing.
