Hi

The previous owner of our Destiny binned most of the upholstery in my Dandy and i needed to replace a mattress on one side. I bought the thinnest mattress i could find which is 4" compound and 1" memory all in a proper coolmax cover. The matress is fairly soft and i think it will compress and lock into position when the end board is locked down but i was wondering if anyone had used them before?

If this works it will be a revelation in comfort because its more comfortable than the mattress i have at home :-)

We use a small double futon mattress on top of std cushions fit prefect. In our destiny We then put it in the middle on top of the wardrobe when packed up .

I'm hoping kneeling on the metal part of the end board will compress the memory foam well enough to leave it in situ. I guess i will just have to give it a go and see. I will report back when i know the facts :-)

The std ones are just under 3 1/2 inches we had new foam put into our covers when we put then back in was a tight fit and it poped the rivets on the slide bolts . Just re riveted back on been fine . I think 5inch is going to be to thick . As you say try it but be careful you don't bend the frame ?

I had a 2"toppers on top of original cushions and used to pull them forwards before folding down to take the strain off the hinges :)

Well it didn't work but there is a solution! Move the dining area cushions into the bed area a day the mattress into the dining area, job done! Eventually we will have two of these mattresses and I'm hoping I can stack them on top of each other and the sides will still fold. Where there's a will there's a way.
