Chinese Diesel Heater? was created by Jim Ford
Has anyone fitted one of the 2Kw Chinese diesel fuel heaters that can be found on Ebay for around £120?

Not used one yet, but we are going to shortly fit one in a caravan that we have for a local homeless person.
They do seem easy enough, and very cheap. Lots of clips on Youtube.

Thanks for the reply, Neil.
I'd like to fit one to my Designer - probably in the seat locker next to the stove. I guess that the fuel tank would fit in the gas bottle locker, flush against the Dandy. My main concern is powering the heater with 12volts. I'm thinking that if I fully charge a battery at home, it might last a couple of weeks. Do you have any ideas, Neil? (I'm planning to camp over next Christmas for a month, to get away from my partner's grandkids. The last Christmas was a major trial for me!)

Yes that all sounds fine.
Going by the clips on YouTube the main battery usage is when the heater first kicks in, after that the power is very little.
You can get an inverter for your car, and use a normal battery charger to charge up your leisure battery when you are on the move.
Make sure you get a unit with a muffler and the noise could be an issue.

Yes, I've thought that the fan noise could be an issue, judging by a lot of Youtube clips. Also vibration through the floor. They all seem to come with a silencer for the heating chamber exhaust.
