What about some channels just for the wheels? Less material and if fixed would guide it in.

I have got a couple of large yellow levellers you'll know the ones that I never use but I think I need a longer approach with less gradient so that I can control and guide thro the narrow entrance.

Well bit the bullet went to Jewson bought 8 by 4 1inch thick hardwood ply board and they kindly cut it for me into 2x 6ft by 2ft With a 2x 4 left over. They also gave me about 30 battens of 2x1 in 2 ft lengths all cut for me from full length pieces. I was going to use 2x4 but I can always double up. 8 x 4 cost me £46 on eBay that size was 75 but admittedly that included free postage which won't be cheap. Looking at the plywood I don't think it needs strengthening looks like it would take the weight of a minibus and find any indication of the weight it would carry but I'm sure with a few batons it will be ok. First thing I'd to seal ends of ply and maybe paint it.
