Hi everyone, I'm new to the Dandy game and picking up my camper from Riva in a couple of weeks - hurrah!
I've got a 2006 Designer and am trying to work out the best option for a fridge. I'm happy to keep it out of the camper, under the skirt, but have no idea what is the best type. So many varying reviews! We are a family of 5 (and white wine drinkers), so nothing too small! What do you guys find is best? Please help!!

Hello Daisykitty. I've just posted on a facebook page as somebody asked me what fridge we have so I can answer you!!

We have a 3 way fridge. An 11 year old Electrolux Dometic Model number RC1600EGP. It's big enough for the two of us and includes our white wine and beer. You do have to be careful how you position things or they freeze.
IT cannot travel in the Designer as it is too tall so we lug it home in the car and then back again. It fits neatly on the end of the spare bed though (where the cutout cushions are - do you have cut out cushions?) As this is non standard to what was originally supplied by Riva our cushions were cut to fit this fridge. Your cushions, if they are cut, will probably be a different size.

The lid is a lift up one. Not a problem in the tent but might be if you were to keep it under the skirt.Might be a bit awkward to access it.

We don't have the cut out cushion and need the sofa as a bed, so don't really want to cut the cushion. I think I'd rather have the fridge outside the camper to save space inside, but hadn't thought about the top opening factor! I imagine you can pull it out from under the skirt easily enough though? I guess if we have the awning it will be no big deal but if not - and it's raining - getting to the fridge might be a bit of a pain! Sigh. Swings and roundabouts .... :)

A three way is the way to go.
However if you are running it on gas, it will not liked to be moved!
But in an awning will be just fine, or even a utility tent
